Main Premise: The Lego Club magazine is one of the most famous children’s magazine. The magazine seems to have boys as their main audience because it goes against the gender roles for girls to play with toys. With the various covers throughout the years, there are more covers featuring superheroes and boy related legos rather than “girly” legos.
Character Roles: Clearly, there is a gender difference. Boy legos are advertised with superheroes, secret agents and sports themes while girl lego sets are advertised as kitchens, homes, horses and other feminine activities that girls tend to do more often than boys. No gender stereotypes are broken but reinforced subconsciously to the younger generation.
Advertisement Analysis: The whole magazine is basically an advertisement. The magazine presents the legos as if it were actually alive making them seem fun and exciting. One adverstisement was about an Iron Man lego which showed Iron Man flying across the water. It was clearly for male audiences to see.
