Main Premise: In the adult television show Blindspot, the distribution of male and female characters slightly tips on the male side but there are still many female characters. But the main character in the show is a female named Jane Doe while her partner is a male named Kurt Weller. The female plays a more important role in the show than a male. This is weird because this goes against the typical gender roles.
Character Roles: The protagonist is Jane Doe and her job in the show is doing field work as a F.B.I. agent like shooting, fighting, and investigating. This already is going apart from the typical gender role of a women but one other shocking fact is that her whole body is covered with manly tattoo. Far from looking pretty and nice, Jane looks like a fierce fighter ready to attack project an dangerous aura. The other main character Kurt Weller comes out in the show as Jane’s partner. Jane also breaks from the typical gender role of women that women can only do domestic duties and aren’t meant for physical tasks. This is shown as a positive feature because she has the ability to show how much potential women have.
Communication and Power: The relationship between Jane Doe and Kurt Weller is pretty firm. They are partners and they fight and investigate with their team. They receive a lot of help from each other and they tend to trust each other very much.
